Prepping For My Next In Person Session – Lots of Fun Stuff Planned for My Players

Today I’m going Behind the Screen and prepping my next in-person D&D session for my ongoing Tomb of Annihilation campaign.

We left the party right has a gigantic Hydra Turtle appeared in the middle of a dark, underground lake.

I also need to solve some problems that I’ve unintentionally created before my party heads to the Tomb of the Nine Gods.

I’ll be building the session live, including encounters, NPC motivations, possible player choices, locations, story beats, and the things I don’t need to prepare.

This isn’t a polished DM tutorial. It’s the actual process I use to prepare a D&D game.

If you’re a Dungeon Master looking for practical D&D advice, campaign ideas, encounter design tips, or just want to see what happens Behind the Screen, grab your dice and prep with me.
